Default Do Dynas have enough range for western US?

Any of you all take your Dynas touring the big states out west? I'm preparing to do this in 3-4 weeks and am wondering if Dynas have the range needed to get between gas stations. Have any of you taken an extra gas can along just in case? If so, how did you do it and stay safe. Thanks!

rode from detroit to socal and did the scenic route over 3000 miles. never had an issue finding a gas station every 150 miles or so which is where i always tend to fill up so i dont get stuck. youll be find jus pay attention to your surroundings.

OK, are you really thinking there are no Dynas in the Western US?
&nbsp\\;
I can pretty reliably get 160 miles out of a tankfull, and I don't get the world's best milage on my FXD. I'm only familiar with New Mexico, Arizona and Texas for Western states, but I never went 160 miles between stations.

Delta, Utah to Ely, Nevada about 160 miles, no problem on my FXDWG.&nbsp\\; Been all over the west with my wide glide and superglide before that and never had a problem with gas though I do carry octane boost (had to use it once in southern Oregon, just north of Denio Junction, NV).&nbsp\\; If you have never ridden in the west you will enjoy it a bunch.
&nbsp\\;
Have fun, Steve

It should not be a problem anywhere. Most places if it is going to be a long distance to the next services post a information sign to let you know how far, just pay attention and fill up if in doubt. You may not find the best gas in the middle of nowhere, but it will get you to the next good station.

No sweat on my old Dyna from Billings, MT to Tucson, AZ a couple of weeks ago. Plus, my gas mileage sucked with the Mikuni carb and 2-1 pipes. Rode a lot of 2 lane and didn't really lay off on the throttle.

Good info, thank you. The only reason I really asked was my dad said something about it 3 weeks ago and i've not been able to get that bug out of my ear. I know there are Dynas in the west, but riding through Death Valley is different that riding from Downtown Phoenix to Downtown Chandler &nbsp\\;Just wanted to get some feed back from guys who've been there. Thanks much!!!

My Wide Glide tank is larger than my buddy's Street Glide tank.&nbsp\\; My bike is lighter thus my gas mileage is better.&nbsp\\; He typically initiates the gas stops on long rides.&nbsp\\; But he has a radio. &nbsp\\;

Just be careful and watch out for the buzzards when you run out of gas.

Just know where you are going and be prepared. Dyna's/Softails have great range, and if you are stickin to the interstate for the majority of your travels there are plenty of gas stops
