Default lowered 1 inch

Just lowered my 06 street bob one inch and when i hit a bump the shocks bottom out . IS there a way to adjust the shocks to prevent this.

How did you lower it ?, never mind in any case if your shocks aren't already maxed out try turning the bottom shock collar clockwise I think,to add some preload.

I lowered it with a lowering block

Crank up the preload on the shock thats all you can do&nbsp\\;

for more play counter clockwise, make sure you do both sides same amount of turns, what i suggest you do if your not sure, crank them all the way in any direction, ride if it is back breaking do one turn and ride around block and see if that helps keep turning untill you get the desired softness, there are 5 clicks i lowerd mine one inch infront and back, and run them on #4 and it perfect i used to have it on 2, i weigh 200lbs, that makes a diff also

there are five settings turn clockwise to firm up the preload.....shock tool availlable at H-D dealer for $10....turn counter clockwise first to be sure BOTH shocks are in the lightest preload position before firming them up!

mine is on 3 my orig was set at 1 and I too bottomed out- but 3 with my 1 inch lowering blocks works great. Cant wait for my first long road trip to sturgis from Cali- even thought im in hawaii bike was shipped there and riding out from san diego.
