rush baffle removal?
 

hey guys,i'm running rush 1.75 slip-ons and xied's with stock a/c. i am wanting more sound and was wandering if anyone has removed the packing from the baffles? how much louder did it make it?will there be any problems with decreased backpressure?

I'm thinking about removing the packing on my Rushes. Would like to hear from someone that did. I just want a little more volume and edge.

yea i'm hopin someone chimes in here that has done it.

i took the packing off my wild pigs (same thing) and they sound fine, maybe a little louder and tinnier...the packing will usually burn off somewhat anyways

I removed the packing from my 1.75 Rush mufflers when I had my Fat Bob.....sounded great. I later installed some 2.o Rush mufflers and they sounded almost the same. I have since switched to a Road King....I have been out of town on business since my new Rush mufflers came in....but when I get home...the baffles come out and the packing goes in the trash.

when i had rush slipons (1.75) I tried em out without the packing...it added a tinny sound that did not improve the pipes... I then moved to a 2.25 baffle...much better.

I also tried them w/o the baffle! Loud as heck, but you could almost outrun me on foot. Hope this helps ya.

I ordered up my rush 1.75's today and should have them in a week! The baffles are removeable right?

I was going to take my baffles out but the allen just was to tight and wanted to strip so i gave up! wtf
