Indicator replacement led's?

I put a different set of bars on my LR, and need to move the indicator lites to the instrument panel. I really don't want to just cut up the panel and install the current setup. I know lots have installed the water clear LED's, and that what I'd prefer to do. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time coming up with 3mm LED's here in Wichita, KS. Go figure. Not only that, but I don't want to order a whole freaking score of them either, just to get 3 or 4 of each. Those that have done the mod, where did you get your LED's? Thanks in advance!

Rodney,

I didn't see specifically colored LED's, but I'll drop them a line and ask. Thanks!

Well, no joy at Badlands. They referred me to Radiantz, but that didn't work out either. I know I can buy them on ebay. But damn, I don't need quite that many, and I don't know how far I trust ebay, especially from a seller in Hong Kong. I'm getting dangerously close to just putting the whole indicator bar in the console like others here have done. I just didn't want to cut things up that bad, yet.

Being in Ks, go to www.superbrightleds.com.

They're in St. Louis and can have your stuff to you next day via USPS.

Good luck and let me know how it turns out. I need to do it my LR also at some point.

I actually just finished up last nite. I found a guy from NC on ebay. Had exactly what I was looking for. $11 and change to my door for 10 each of red, green, and blue. Turned out nice. More time consuming than I thought, but nice.

Yep! I found out this morning, in the dark, that these things are REEEEAAAAALLLLLLYYYYYY bright!!! I was told to put a 1K resistor on the high beam, but I didn't listen. So, I get to go in there again. Oh well, it was so much fun the first time, I might even knock the turns and neutral down a bit.

Joe, yeah, Radio shack had the 5mm colored LED's, but I wanted the 3mm water clear. The guy on ebay was great tho.
