Which Gas Tank Fits
 

I have an '03 Superglide with the speedo on the bars. I want to put a new tank on with the speedo on the tank. What tanks will fit my bike? Thanks!!

Same year Low Rider tank should fit with no problem. Keep in mind that you'll have to buy a new speedometer and I think the Low Riders also have a tach in the tank panel, so you'd have to buy one of those also.

You wont be able to find a bolt on tank. I researched this a couple years ago and found out that aftermarket or OEM tanks for a Dyna are very limited. I found 2 that would work on mine.....the stock oem tank and a aftermarket tank with a one cap side fill hole. I decided to stay with the stock tank.


Now with that said, may I suggest this.

With a little extra sheet metal, some ingenuity, a little $$ .......you could install a cool looking speedo on your stock tank, and have something very different from everyone else.

Or you can take just about any tank from any model. Cut off the mounting tabs from your stock tank and have them welded to the tank you want to install.

If you are looking for a bolt on senario, it ain't gonna happen.

I guess all the dyna frame aren't the same then for certain years?

I've recently researched this myself. I know the SG model frames are not the same in that the frames for the LR and others have more rake in the neck area. The only way I would know for sure is to try a LR tank to see the exact difference. There was one on E-bay a few months ago I was going to try but they wanted too much.
