Don't have your answer but wanted to add a question to this subject. I was thinking about changing the sliders on the front forks, (from black to chrome). Is this difficult? Can it be done in the garage or should I let the local Harley shop tackle this for me?

se heavy duty. You will get a smoother ride and front end will not dip so much when braking. Would not go back.

I put in the Heavy duty fork oil, definately stopped it from dipping so much. Changing out the sliders is a garage job, only takes a few hours.

fork oil:
1. don't panic
2. screamin eagle improve the front of my ride...
3. changing slider is a PITA.. I got some chrome ones that H-D makes that fit around the slider for 41mm forks. go that route(if you can for the 49mm front end) they look cool for chrome.

Try Belray Fork Oil.

Type "E" is 5 weight - the lightest one
Type "B" is 10 weight
Type "screamin' eagle" is 15 weight
Type "screamin' eagle racing oil" is 20 weight ( Not intended for street bikes)

I bought/used a litre of 15w BelRay fork oil from my local metric shop. More than enough to refill my forks. I did it at 5,000 miles and the factory oil looked like shat.
