Default Oil Filters

There are a lot of other filters out there that will fit the Harleys. Purolater-K&N-Fram-and I think I saw filter from Moble. I have been told that the 96" twinkes have a higher volume oil pump that the 88".

Why use anything but Harley filters, to save a few pennys maybe. Not worth the savings in my opinion.Stick with Harley filters, no worries.

Use the Harley or K&N filters. Why use anything else? An oil filter is not an oil filter. I found this out back in 1990 when I decided to put a Lee filter on my 1984 BMW instead of the BMW spec filter. The O-ring blew out on a cold start-up and left me stranded in Pa. The Lee filter didn't have the same spec for cold oil pressure that the BMW filter did. Stick with what Harley recommends.
