How'd I do?
Hi all,
First post here. I've been lurking for a while, but today I pulled the trigger on a '99 Wide Glide for $4,800. 35k miles with everything stock (for now). I believe the color is formally known as "violet pearl." This guy took great care of her. Really, not a scratch anywhere. I rode her home an hour and a half today, which was possibly one of the coldest days Virginia has seen this year, and it ran perfectly. Gotta love just cruising on the open road. I had the pleasure of riding through a portion of Shenandoah National Park. Even without leaves on the trees it was wonderful. Anyhow, just wondering your thoughts. Pictures to follow in the next day or so. Thanks, -Mike |
not bad..most importantly.are you happy with it ???

Welcome to the forum.
That is a great price for my area. I would not let mine go for any where near that and it is one year older. |
Am I happy with it? Hmmm... YES!! Love it so far. Just can't wait to get some more riding in. I did some work for Harley/Cornell University a year ago on TC88 cooling. It's pretty neat to actually ride a bike with the same engine now.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome from Richmond.
When I got mine I could do a fair amount of miles in the cold with a grin on my face. Yesterday, i went a mile up the road and couldn't turn around fast enough, |
Congrats on the bike and enjoy. I think you made a great deal. The mileage is nothing and the price is great I would have bought it in a heart beat for that.
|
Definitely a great deal you got there! Congrats on the pick up and welcome.

nice purchase!!! If it is a TC88 I would take some of the money you saved and have the timing chest cover removed to inspect the cam chain tensioners. If it is an evo don't worry about it. All in all you have done very well. Ride safe.

Congrats Mike and welcome to the forum. Look forward to riding in your part of the woods one of these days.
Congrats again, Steve |
