Need help choosing brake line and length
So I'm gonna order some Lyndall gold plus pads and figured I would get a new brake line as well... the one I have now is for my old apes. I run 28" wide drag bars on 8" risers. What cable length would I need? I want the cable to look as clean as possible and allow me to move up or down two inches in rise. Thanks!

measure the current ones if you want to lower the bars reduce by that amount if you want to go higher get cables extended by the corresponding extra height.Dealers offer fixed lengths but many shops will make your exact length.

I ran a length of thin gauge wire from my front master cylinder to my caliper. Wire worked better than string for me, since I could bend it to follow the route I wanted the new brake line to take.
Once you route the wire, cut it to length and straighten it back out. Measure the wire and you should be good. Maybe add an inch or two just in case. Oh: "measure twice, buy once." Don't ask me why I suggest that :) |
