Default rims questions

So a buddy gave me the rims off his '03 Softail Standard. The front is a 21 and the rear a 16. What I'm wondering is if the rims would work to lace to my hubs. Anyone that has any input on this would love to hear it.

not really sure, but it should work with the right spokes. just curious why would you go with a 16" rear? I think most people go up to an 18" Not sure about rear caliper clearance either.

I am using the 16" cause it was free! Mostly cause I want to run whitewalls, really want whitewalls! I was looking at the hubs last night and they look the same. I think that I can lace the spokes right to my hub. I guess worst case I have to put my rim back together and buy a rim.

Yes you can relace the new rims to your stock hubs and all will be fine...

you can use the rims and your hubs but get new spokes - you can get a whitewall for a 17 inch rim - Id use the 21 for sure, but I wouldnt put the 16 on - especially if only reason is whitewall - depending on your tire size, this will increase the gap between fender and wheel, etc

16" rear is the classic Harley look. 17" doesn't look terrible, but any bigger and they start to look like bicycle tires from the side.

Eh, whitewall for a 17 is actually surprisingly hard to find.

Dunlap doesn't make one.
