Default New vs old fxdl

So I've decided I want a lowrider! I like the dual disk brakes up front and the mag wheels, I heard the motors started coming out black 103 stock in 2014? I really don't know much about the differences in years with these bikes but I'm not looking to spend more then 10k, my question is how much different is a 95 vs a 2014? I found a 95 with 12k miles, dual disks and what seems like a good start for me for only 6k!! Is the frame different? Is there any reason I wouldn't like it?? Considering I rode a 2015 fxdl and loved that.

A 1995? Pretty much a totally different bike than a 2014. Different frame and fork. Evo vs Twin Cam.

Basically there were a lot of incremental improvements made - some to fix less than optimum parts (tensioner) as well as nice improvements like more HP and fuel injection. Stuff that is affected by the higher HP like compensator etc.

Those bikes are like a night and day difference! Personally I'd go with the 2014. By far a much better bike. BUT, a 95 would be much easier and cheaper to build and make it your own. Your best bet would be to find a relatively stock 95 and take it for a spin to compare. Good luck with the decision.

Best advice, provided you have the opportunity. Ride both, maybe the '95 to the shop which has the 2014 model and direct comparison.

If it were me and I found a low mile EVO Lowrider I would jump all over it.

I have a 14 Lowrider and a 16 S. The S doesn't even look like a Lowrider. Ugly seat, Fat Bob handlebars, chopped off rear fender, different fender supports and battery cover. They sit side by side and you can't see that they are the same.

The regular new Lowriders do take styling clues from the past. The S takes its clues from the old Sturgis model.

As far as I know, there was never a factory EFI Evo Dyna.

Frame/fork changed in '06, 88ci with 6 speed. Switched to 96" in '07.

Ohhhh. Here we go. Buying a Harley to fit into this new yuppy "trend" I see. The Harley culture is going to **** and we can thank the tards of Unknown Industries for it. Everyone wants to be cool on a harley now. What happened to not giving a **** about being cool or what everyone else thought about you?? That's what Harley used to stand for. Now it's a stupid trend. You want to wheelie, buy a crotch rocket.
