Bub's are here!

Hey buddies I have my new exhaust ,it got here today, Bub7 2/1 I am going to get new gaskets from the dealer and a set of plugs while I'm at it , so The million dollar question , anything special I should watch out for? Looks like
I'm going to do this by myself. I have sockets and wrenches and a torque wrench and blue loctite , and a new fuel map from Jamie, and a computer....anything come to mind?

I can get beer and all kinds of whatever else I need so c'mon how hard will this be? or should I get someone to help me??

Since it's such a high heat application use the high heat sleeve retainer thread lock. Tube looks just like the blue except it's a gel for high heat.

Failz Jun 4, 2009 07:14 PM

It's an easy job, you should be able to do it yourself.

maddghost Jun 4, 2009 07:21 PM

So far there only saying I need regular blue locktite for the bracket mounts. I bought some high heat stuff and was down because I have no need for it! LMAO

I was talking about where the exhaust mounts to the cylinder. Or wait, are they slip-ons?

maddghost Jun 4, 2009 07:39 PM

No No full heders going on,they haven't mentioned loctite in that area yet,but I have it if I need it

Never LocTite the flange nut's ... Never

maddghost Jun 4, 2009 08:25 PM

Thank you for that WingNut! Will they be hard to remove? They have been on , stock , for about 11000 miles. If I try with my socket set any danger of breaking them off? Or twisting the threads?

WingNut55 Jun 4, 2009 08:50 PM

Soak the Nuts First and Loosen a Little, reverse and repeat until there off.. 1/2" semi deep flex Socket and 1/4" drive works best for us.. When Installing the new pipes DO NOT Over tighten the Flange nut's you'll crush the Gaskets .. Use the Standard HD Gaskets ..( Screaming Eagle Gaskets Suck ) Get them ( Flange Nut's ) Good and Snug, Then a quarter turn.. Run it a day and re check ..
