Got the ol suicide shift

looks like an eight ball on it just below the seat in front of the coils . I just don't understand why???????? is it just a looks thing? because it can't be for practicality.

Back in the day (1953) when I had my 50 panhead, the clutch was the suicide part, so labeled because it slammed forward and engaged when you removed your foot from the heel pad. The shifter on the tank was simply called a hand shift. Terms, etc., change over the years.

Its a different perspective when riding...Its a blast to ride. I guess I get bored real fast and need to change things to keep my intrest.

I think it's kinda cool personally, not as easy, or safe as a foot shift, but without the suicide clutch, not quite as frightening. My friend has one, though his shifter arm is longer, so it looks easier to reach than yours. Took me about 15 minutes to get the hang of it. Not exactly something I would want all of the time, but it makes a ride different, and that's a plus for many. Keep it your own and you'll never lose your bike in a bike night parking lot, LOL..

Lemme see.... now you have your left foot doing nothing and your left hand doing more right? Also you have to take your left hand off the bars to shift. Oh... is your left foot the clutch now?
Hmmm...
Not for me. I'll never be able to wave and shift.
Looks cool though.
Can you text message, chew gum and ride?
