Hello I have a 2007 Street bob and I love it BUT LOL
I took a friends 1997 Fat boy for a ride yesterday -I was shocked Thinking since its a 97 it would be a rough ride but NOP dam that think was smooth
The floorbords took a bit to get use to but thay were comfey and also his bars were low just off the tank and that was cool also But I was most shocked with the overall smoothness of the road bumps
My Street bob is Much btr than my 2000 sportster was but The SB was much tighter but you feel the road much more with the Dyna
So when the time comes to replace the shocks is there a big difrence in stock shocks - will another brand of shock give me a smoother ride ?
If you want to upgrade I've always read werks or werx I don't kow how they spell it,are the cat's *** in shock replacement for a true ride upgrade . And I've heard if you don't feel like putting out the extra dough progressive is the second choice . However I have heard mixed reviews on both . It all comes down to rider's weight and ride style vs money. I weigh 185 and I find my stock fatbob shocks rough last year, but I must be used to them now because it's all good this year. My buddy has air shocks on his '06 lowboy and he is constantly bottoming out, he prolly weighs 230-240

You will need to turn the bottom part of the shock with a spanner wrench or anythign else that will work. If you are looking at the shock from the side clockwise softens the ride and counter clockwise stiffens it, I believe.
