Default yet another Bob

Hey everyone...been lurking here for the last 2 weeks since bringing home my Bob,great place for info on these badass scooters.I notice quite a few newbies to the sport here...myself, i haven't had a bike for 21 years after having been rear ended on my 79 Sporty while my wife was 7 months pregnant...needless to say, she is less than enthused with Robert.Ayway, this bike bears no resemblance to the 79 and i'm getting used to all the different noises it makes. After downshifting to 1st gear, i hear a distinct whine/whir that may or may not b
e the trans...don't hear it any other time...normal or should i add it to the 1000 mile checklist?

i got that noise in mine too but i would bring it to the attenchen of the dealer at the 1000 mile service just so its documented it might be nothing but it might turn into something. thats what warrenty and dealers are for . by the way good choice on the scoot .. dont forget to post pics

I believe the whine you hear in first gear is the auto tensioner on the primary drive. I put one on my sporty and it made the same sound.

Congrat's and welcome to the board Phil. I would mention it at the 1000 mi service. I don't recall hearing that from mine, but then again I'm gettin' hard of hearing.
