Stalled, now won't start
So, my bike stalled out - I didn't give it enough gas when I let up the clutch. Then, when I went to turn it back on, no power. So, I connected it to a portable charger for a while, to get the battery some power, then tried to start it, and it tried to turn over, but didn't. After it tried to turn over, the bike started a clicking sound until I let go of the start button.
Any ideas? |
Check your battery cables, they have been known to come loose at the terminals.
|
Really? Could stalling the bike loosen the battery cable? What about the clicking sound?
|
You may have a dead battery, they die only at the worst times. The clicking is the starter without enough juice. Check your leads on the battery and test the battery. This is my guess... good luck.

The stalling and cables happening at the same time are probably coincidence.... however the clicking sound would be the relay not getting enough current... indicative of a poor battery connection. I check mine every couple of weeks, because of the amount of people that ultimately find they have a loose battery cable.

I cleaned the negative lead to the battery, plugged the trickle charger into a nearby outlet and let it charge for about 15 minutes. Disconnected the trickle charger and the bike then started right up.
Thanks for your help. |
