does anyone know where to get a bracket i'm looking for
 

I am going to change my tank from a superglide to a low rider. i went to the dealer and ordered all the parts that i will need. unfortunately they called me back the next day and said part # 48047-95a is no longer being made. they also said they called all around the country and could only find one and that person wouldn't part with it. the part is the bracket that holds the tach and speedo in the dash. if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

maybe find a used one on ebay...

Isn't that a square "U" shaped bracket that bolts to the back of the speedo and tach? I wouldn't think it would be too hard to fabricate something like that.

have seen the part on ebay but usually it is the whole dash assembly. now that i am ready to buy i can't find them anywhere. even the salvage yards that are selling the rest of the dash pieces don't have any.

thanks for looking up the brackets but the one i am looking for is all one piece and holds the dash and speedo together. once i get the rest of the pieces i will look to see what i can come with. was jsut hoping someone had one theu were willing to part with or knew someone who did.

what year is your bike?

I checked my 2003 DYNA models parts catalog for this p/n. According to the manual it is the "BRACKET, instrument" (item 10 in attached diagram).

The p/n 48047-95A is not recognized by LSHD1, Zanotti and Chicago H-D parts database.

When you check BikeBandit.com for the p/n, you'll find this

It seems a bit strange to me this part is not produced anymore. Perhaps you'd send a mail to MoCo Headquarters and ask them if this part has had a replacement part & the p/n.

The dash looks the same as my old 79 FXS lowrider that had the two brackets. It looks to me that Harley went from a two piece bracket to a one piece bracket. I betcha the two pieces would work just as well if your speedo and tach have two studs (each) on the back. That's how the two piece bracket is attached.

what year bike do you have?

yeah i remembered last night that i didn't put the years down. it is a 2003 lr tank going on a 2001 sg. the moco says the part is "obsolete" the bracket is the one that fxdrider put on the thumbnail. i have tried several web sites and my best luck i've had is putting the pn on google. i found a site that lists the pn but my son has had my credit card to buy schoolbooks so i was unable to order one. was hoping to find one here or to see if somene else has encountered thed same problem.

i don't think there was an updated part because they changed the tank in 04.

Google turned up nothing. bikerbobs showed it listed but not inventory. Maybe someone who has the bracket could make a copy of it for you.
