Adding horn to factory alarm.

Is adding the horn to the flashing lights on the factory alarm a DIY project or should I get this done at the stealer? Anyone done this yet? Any help would be appreciated.

I think thats a good idea! This is the first I heard of it.

Would both work together or were you thinking of one or the other?

I've noticed my alarm siren sounding sickish when damp from riding in the rain.
I'll bird-dog the power lead to the siren, splice it into the horn & see what happens.

That'll be something to do while it's raining.

As far as I know it's just a plug and play module that goes under the seat and slides up under the electrical box.

I’d like to see pics if anyone has done it…. I may be thinking of adding the siren soon myself.

Just came in from the garage. I unpluged the siren module, jumped wires from the harness plug to the horn, activated the alarm... silence.
I re-arranged the jumpers... the horn blew continuosly.

The volt meter indicated 11-12 volts at the siren harness. The schematics show the wire connections between the siren module & the TSSM but no curcitry w/in each component.

I need to get one of those Radio Shack sirens, dis-assemble it & run the leads from it's buzzer to the horn.

Yea... that might work.

This configuration would utilize the horn only, not the electronic buzzer... which is okay because the horn is much louder than the siren.

Joe,
Sorry to hear about your spill...

Can you give any additional info on that Radio Shack siren?

...glade to hear your spirits are up,
Ken.
