Default 103ci kit

Just courious,.......... Is there a 103 ci kit available for the 06 Dynas? I have been looking and havent seen any in the big Harley Parts book. I havent asked my dealer yet, since it appears at times I get more reliable info on here than from the dealer,......LOL.

John, at Javelina here in the SATx area, I asked about that, and my parts guy pulled out a complete catalog on the engines.

So, yes, I do believe. Bring along about 4 grand.

On page 92 of the Screamin Eagle catalog you will see the 120 inch motor. No price is quoted in the catalog.

$3000 for the kit plus a substantial labor charge. More bang for the buck to do a 95" or 98" big bore conversion with aftermarket gear driven cams and ported heads. Same result, less money.

Only aftermarket gear cams I'm aware of for the 06 dynas are Andrews. Kuryakyn Wild Things plan to have there cams in july roughly (so there sales told me in e-mail) not sure about gear driven though. Andrews also has a set up to change older chain drive to the updated 06 dyna style roller chain design.06 dyna cam design going to prove good?
I have not wrote any of the places making 95" and 98" kits including cams if they have a kit for the new Dyna's but I do know the cam area is different and the plethera of cams out for a TC88 of 2005 and earlier will not work in the 06 dyna.

Personaly I believe a larger bore making the engine closer to square is a better idea then stroking it. But that is just my personal opinion. I also agree with CraigC there are better builds out there for the money. Of course they will most likely not have a canned map like Screamin Eagle would.

CragiC,

How much did you spend on your stage II Kit with labor and all? I was thinking of having mine Dyno tuned when I have it done. There is a H-D shop not too far that is really pretty good at Dyno tuning the SERT's, so I figured that I would have them do it all. I found the SE 95" Big Bore kit for the 06 Dyna in my big H-D catalog and I found it at Zanottis for a lil over $150.00 less than the msrp.

Up the compression a little (9.5:1), go with the larger bore, and get some new heads. Leave the long stroke for tractor motors. The twincam needs horsepower not torque. I like what I have read about the 98" kits. I think HDWRENCH on this forum advertises those so do a search. The TC88 already has decent torque which will increase with whatever you do, I just think that going after HP over torque would result in more fun riding. I haven't checked to see who might offer the lightest weight pistons and rods but that would be a concern for me as well.

CragiC,

The kit was $1000 minus 15% discount. Labor was 10hrs at $60/hr so, $600. Labor rates seem to vary quite a bit. Orlando Harley charges $80/hr while the dealer where I bought mine was $20 less. Pays to shop around. Hindsight, a bigger cam would've been better, if one is available. Haven't gotten around to having it dyno tuned yet.
