Help me make my bike into a 70's Bobber!
#21
You did an excellent job on that rear fender. The new Wide Glide fender looks too "factory" while yours is more in the spirit of a true bobber. I would love to have a fender like yours on my FXDF.
Which handlebar did you use? That looks like a sweet setup.

You won't truly have a '70's bike until you OWN a '70's bike. Sorry to sound like a purist, but it is true. just customize your bike to your liking and f'n hell all the rest. I got money saved for my first shovelhead and i am going to do it proper, but for the FXDC...shorter shocks, 16" apes, forwards, and a solo seat. Will look sharp, functional, and the envy of everyone on my block. the shovel will come out on special occasions.....

It's all about the money. If you REALLY want a shovel and have a bathtub full of money, S&S has new ones that'll hold up well and are dependable. You can build a new shovel sled but it'll set ya back a bit.
if your looking for cheap, I'd pick something newer as a starting point. At the least an Evo engine. The evolution engine is pretty much bullet proof.
