yeah try metzeler. I think dunlop has a different model # tire that is supposed to last pretty long as well. Metzelers really have a much better feel on the road. Keep the tire pressure at 40-44 and make sure the bike is aligned properly to help prolong wear.
I just put on a Dunlop D407 radial on mine,It's stock on the Screamin' Eagle Dyna, and one of the CVO Touring bikes,it handles just as good as the K591,and hopefully I get 10-12,000 out of it,plus it's a 170,and looks better on the bike.
I put 16k on my last Metzeler ME880 Marathon. One of the last trips was about 30 miles in heavy rain and it still held the road, so I just put a new one on the bike.
Always felt like it handled very well.
It all depends on how you ride that will determine how long they'll last. My stock Dunlop's only had 3800 miles on them and were showing signs of wear! My Metzeler's average about 5000 for the rears and so far I have about 12000 on the front and it looks to be down to about half. I ride pretty hard 80% of the time and 70/30 city/highway. +1 on keeping an eye on your tires air pressure!

Tire pressure at 40-44 psi..? Super Glides usually have a manufacturer tire pressure of 30psi for the front tire and 36psi for the rear (1-up) or 40psi for the rear (2-up).
X2 on the D407 for the rear.... I'll get about 12K out of mine by the looks of things, and I think it handles better than the K591. I got 5700 out of the K591 btw.
