Thanks 2 all. Now I got some more anwsers I've got a great friend thats a HD Tech and he was a little concerned so thats y I wanted some more info. Sorry I've been riding 4 2 years since I bought my bike new coming from the Hot Rod world never worried bout this stuff. So once again thanks guys.

OP...you're confused.
you don't have stage 2 anything unless you've done engine work to your bike.
"stage 1" simply refers to changing the air intake, the exhaust, and adding a fuel management system to your bike.
so it follows, any intake change you make to your bike falls under "stage 1" upgrades.
i just ordered a mini-max assembly from wimmer.
it's an open element filter, and comes with a rain sock.
compared to the heavy breather it's pretty inexpensive (about 60 bucks less).
