I was planning to go with the '71 (first year of production for the Super Glide) as kind of a nostalgia thing ... even though they're not as cool as some of the other ones in my opinion ....
But, after I bought them ... as I was about to put them on, I had second thoughts ... and have been running badge-less ever since ....
Although I think there are a ****-ton of cool Harley badges, I guess I just kind of lost interest ... not like anyone is going to not guess it's a Harley ....
I guess my thinking kind of evolved to the place where I don't care if an uninformed person doesn't know the brand of my bike ... and I don't think the badges are that cool that they're a 'must have' ....
Oh well ... guess I didn't really give you any ideas about what badge to use ... uh, the '71 badges I suppose ...?? [or just go without] ....
By the by ... If you have any questions about your tank conversion, feel free to give me a holler, I changed my stock '05 FXDI tank for an '04 FXDL tank and went with a FXDB console (new) ... reused my original speedo ....
bberk, I think it would look good naked. Love a black bike without badges, looks super clean.

I have the same thoughts Todd. I had the Street Glide badges in mind but didn't want to pay that much for them. Ended up just saying **** on it. I did have a guy that asked what is that a Valkery? That was the second time around with the same guy. First time it was in primer and he asked if it was an Indian! He's a good guy and owns a local business I frequent so I won't hold it against him.
Badgeless is still a option as well, I usually remove all the badges from my trucks so its a look I like.
Thanks for offering tank help SURFOR Chop but i think I found everything I need.
I already removed and sold my old tank. I took the fuel pump out before selling it so have a idea of how to reinstall on the new one. Then between threads and a parts manual I ordered all my parts from Zanottis minus the switch. I had my local Indy get one keyed to my keys. So barring a problem I think I am in good shape.
Badges?! We don't need no stinkin'..oh that bits been done to death. I think a black bike looks best with no badges otherwise a simple Harley Davidson in small letters. I like red myself, but subtle is always best in my opinion.
