Default Dyno tune question

Hello all, I have a quick question about dyno tuning. I had mine done in May of last year, 09 FXD V&H straight shot slip ons, race tuner and intake. Bike is running great, just slight pop on decel, how often do you have to have it "re tuned" per say? Or not.

Thx

Your tune should be fine forever until you do a performance mod that affects air flow like cams, new heads, big bore, etc.

How long did you have your intake and exhaust mods on before you dyno'd? I added my stage 1 intake and exhaust at the time of purchase and was told to wait until after break in to dyno so the baffles were "burned in" and such.

I have an Auto-tune and still had a few decel pops, the quiet baffles I put in stopped it.

You shouldn't have to have it re-tuned. Did it do this from day 1 or just start doing it recently?

Double check your pipes make sure they haven't worked the bolts loose up by the gaskets, when i first put my pipes on about month later mine came loose and had to tighten them back up.

Personally I would not waste my money on a dyno tune if only performing a basic stage 1 upgrade.

But no, you don't need to retune it unless you change something.

Thanks for the reply guys. I had the V&H slip ons for about two months then did the intake and tune. I will check the bolts. Thank you.

red devil,
It had the pop on decel from day one. Just depends on how I ride and get off the throttle. If I let off real quickly, it will pop. I figure unburnt fuel.

My thoughts exactly...alot of wasted money for no motor mods, but I can see makin a couple pulls just to see what kind of curve ya got out of curiousity! IMO a little decell pop is nothing to get worked up over...however if ya did happen to buy a race tuner & had a full dynotune on it for a stage 1 it better not have decell pop cause it can be tuned out!
