Default Cobra II mounting post

Hi All:
I just picked up a Cobra II headlight from Eastern Performance on eBay.
Which adaptor/mounting block did you use, or did the one that came with the Cobra fit? It sure doesn't look like the light would mount directly above (with no offset) the hole in the lower tree without the back of the light interfering with the fork neck. I’d like to avoid taking off the old headlight (just to test fit the Cobra) until I have all needed parts in hand and am ready to actually mount the light. My bike is a 2006 Street Bob FXDBI.
The two choices of offset mounting blocks I’ve seen are:
(1) ½” vertical offset, ¾” horizontal offset
(2) ½” vertical offset, 1-1/2” horizontal offset
Thanks for any advise.

5 3/4

4 1/2

The 4 1/2 is too small. It looks like a flashlight on there.

This is my question as well. No one has mentioned the mounting block, but I thought it was a given. Perhaps not. Clue us in. THANKS!

I had to kick mine out 2" to clear the upper tree. I bought a mounting block that moved it forward 2.75" just to be sure. I like it and that's all that matters...

It's another Cobra II from Eastern Performance, but I used the stock HD glass as the one that came with it didn't 'look' very high quality.

I just measured mine. It's 1/2" up and 1 1/2" forward. I can't remember what brand it is but I bought it off Ebay from American Classic Motors.

Definitely 5.75"! The 4.5" is too small for the mid glide front end. I know first-hand because I put one on mine. I was proud of it to begin with but it began to not look right to me. My buddies never said a word until I realized it myself and swapped it out for the bigger one. Then they all confessed that they thought the 4.5" was too small and didn't look right.

That's the exact light on my bike now. But it came with a stubby little mounting block. I bought the 4.5" version before this one and it came with an L-shaped bracket that I ended up keeping and using on the new light - works perfectly.

This is the stubby little mounting block that comes with the Cobra II
If anyone wants it - they can have it...
