Just spray rattle can black epoxy paint, while you save your money for replacement, cost would be paint, painters tape and lots of your manual labor
is there anywhere a person could but the spokes pc on the aftermarket? thinking of doing same but was wanting my hub/rim, and nipplies to stay chrome(my rim nipplies) any pics of this?
Call HDW, Andre' the Russian does a great job with laced wheels. He's done 5 for me so far and many for friends based on how much they liked my wheels. He recently did another for me (the front). He powdecoated my existing hub black and laced up some powdercoated black twisted spokes to stainless nipples and a chrome rim. I don't have trouble with any flaking off. Wish my computer hadn't crashed as I had some nice pics of the wheel on there. I'd call Andre' or his partner for sure when it comes to laced wheels. He's been knows what he's doing, he's great to work with, if you can understand his accent and he stands behind his work.
No propper prepped wheels will not chip or crack, we coat them all the time. if you coat a lace wheel all together you can not true it, if you tear it down and coat it then you can true it all no problem. we do both alot. my tuning forks (spoke wrench) i have dipped in rubber (like you put on screwdriver handles) works great to protect the nipples from scratches as you are workingon them, i also know guys that use masking tape
I have a set of stock street bob front and rear spokes in gloss black and one set in flat black currently in stock ready to ship if someone is intrested
