Just bought a Dyna Police "Defender" NEED HELP!!!!
 

Hey guys, I am most likely goin to pick up a 2002 Dyna Defender this weekend. I personally haven't seen the bike since it is in Austin (Im in Houston) My Father knows the guy and the bike and vouches for it and test rode it for me today since he works in Austin. My question is.....what CAN these look like without the Police "Setup"? Only pics I can find are stock Police ones with everything on it. Any pics of some "Custom" FXDP's?

i want to see some pix. probably has a fairing and hard bags. anything can be removed and changed to your liking. its a dyna! i wonder if the motor has more hp?

Well I got some crappy cell phone pics of it from my father. So far the Original Owner removed all fairings, so it looks like a regular naked Dyna. He painted the bike solid black and put white walls on it. He bought Bigger Dyna fenders and replaced the smaller Police ones and he has drag bars with 6" risers. It looks nice from the pics i've seen. It has the 88 engine in it but he says it has a Big-Bore Kit in it as well.

Here are some images I found on the internet a few years ago. The FXDP fork legs are 2" longer compaired to stock FXD and it has a 2nd brake rotor as well...

It also may have foot boards as those pics show. My 02 FXD didn't.

I would guess it is based on an FXDX, so will have better quality adjustable suspension both ends compared with most Dynas, as well as the twin front discs. As an FXDXT owner I reckon you will find it rides and stops very well. Just don't wreck it by lowering it into a cruiser!

I also found out he put a Wide Glide Arlen Ness Front End on it. How much higher do these bikes come then regular Dynas. Are they higher for better mobility?
