Progressive 430 to replace the 440's?
Anybody switch from the Progressive 440 HD shocks to the Progressive 430 HD's? The powder coating on my 440's is coming off, and they don't seem to be performing as good as they once did. They are about 3 years old and seem to be falling apart. Rather than continue to argue warranty facts and continue to hear that I must not have cared for them or my bike properly, I've decided not to pay them to refurbish the limited lifetime warranty 440's and buy a new set of the 430's. That is if I can get some good feed back from you out there using them on your Dynas. Whatcha think of yours? Anybody done a similar swith. Opinions are appreciated as the 430's cost a few coins as well. Thanks Folks, Rick

IMHO, dump the progressive line all together. Get Ricor's new shocks. They are awesome. They look almost like the 430 progressive makes. Actually look better to me. The shocks are built to your weight and riding style. and they ride damn good.

Ouch!
They have great specs and do look good but 900.00 clams is a bit hard to swallow. They must REALLY ride good, and cook you dinner as well? :)

I have 440's and I like them. But it was a long road back and forth with Progressive to get them to the point I was happy. They claim they are the best shock. Can't see the 430's being any better. If they won't warrany them and they don't make you happy, why use another Progressive product. Theres lots of other brands for close to the price that make killer shocks. As mentioned, Ricor. Penske, Ohlins. I can't seeing 430's being any better and I certianlly wouldn't reward a company thats pissing you off buy buying another set from them. Thats what I did and it about drove me nuts.

I hear ya! I have a friend who put the 430's on his Street Glide after having trouble with the ride of the 440's and he loves them. Since I've been lurking here for quite a while and I'm just starting to become more active in discussion, I did not know Ricor was a site sponser. I believe in doing business with sponsers with a good rep. I'm thrilled with Joe and his work and from what I'm seeing Ricor has a good following to. 900.00 would push me over the edge but for 600.00 I might swallow hard....and take that beer! :)

Love My 430's........ soooooo easy to adjust the stiffness depending on your needs for the day. Just twist and go...... No tools required.
Here is a photo of them on my Low Rider http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...9/100_2142.jpg |
