Thanks for all of the quick inputs guys. As soon as I posted this link I went back outside and pulled off the side covers. Sure enough, the ground terminal was just a tough loose from where my LED remote switch comes in. I snugged it up and road the bike 100 miles last night.
Trust me, I was in shear panic mode yesterday... I didn't think it could have been a short because all of the other electrical components would stay on when the bike was losing power.
As far as riding a victory... Nice bikes, but I wont be on one any time soon.
