Called Vance and Hines...$$$$

I called V&H today about a new front heat shield for the big shots staggered for my 03 super glide.. I got the pipes from a friend used..the front heat shield is scratched pretty bad. So I thought I would replace it.. They told me $ 168.00 not counting shipping.. Holy crap.. I search on the net but didnt really find anything about replacement parts and cheaper.. I like the chrome and dont want to wrap the pipes.. Does anyone know where I might be able to find this part cheaper or does anyone have one I could purchase from them.. Thanks all and ride safe..

Just my two cents, but it might be worthwhile to look into having it rechromed. Could turn out to be your cheapest optioned.

Guys list these on Ebay all the time that took them off to wrap thier pipes. In the meantime, I've heard that people are getting good results from high temp BBQ paint.

Yes heat shields are ridiculous. For the Slip ons they wanted $75 each plus shipping. For $100 buck more I could have bought a new set. I just mtohered it up and looks good enough till I get side shots.
