I just sprung for a set of pro street pipes and was looking
for some feedback on them. Maybe mounting and tuning tips
with TFI also. Any input would be greatly apprieciated.
Make sure, I repeat, make sure to frequently check the tightness of the exhaust flanges for the first couple hundred miles or better yet get some lock nuts and put them on when you install the pipes.
I only went about 50 miles and both nuts on the front pipe had worked loose. I have talked to others that have also had this problem.
Other than that I love the pipes. Sound and look great (I have had several compliments on the sound)

RE: Bassani pipes?
16over is dead right. I always retighten my flanges after rides. The pipes are awesome but you have to check those flanges often. I used a Race Fueler. Sorry no experience on the TFI. Oh yeah, if you go with the black ceramic coated they look great but scratch easy. I put some heat shields on to help avoid more scratches in the future.
Mounting is not too difficult on the 1 - 10 scale, just check the nuts on the exhaust as suggested. As for tuning, I took it to my stealership and had it dialed in. I love the look and sound and I wrapped my chrome with black Thermo-Tec header wrap. At work, so I can't post a pic.
if you guys get a moment post some pics of your pipes when you get a chance. i am trying to decide between the vance and hines short shots and the bassani pro streets. heard nothing but good things about the bassanis...
Look up BASIC bike. He was bike of the month a month or so back and he has the same setup as me, wrapped Bassani pro streets. He has some great pics. I don't yet.
