You got me lost here little bit.
I was under impression that in low rpm the butterfly is open and when rpm rises it get closed so the whole exhaust is directed through one pipe and it makes bike more quiet.
Please correct me if I have it wrong.

If this is only on Int bikes (I mean both: exhaust and intake) not US than it is probably software difference.
I wonder if loading US soft to Int bike would not fix it all.
Any idea ?

It's the opposite actually, when bike is running idle or low RPM's you are, probably, into urban areas, so valve is closed and exhaust gases are routed to the more quiet pipe. Once you open throttle and pass from a certain RPM range, valve opens, and bike gets noisy, not to much, under 96dB anyway (which is the maximum allowed in Europe)

You can check it actually by having someone accelerating the bike and checking the output of the two pipes.

Cheers!

I will have to check, but I'm not sure if I have anymore quiet pipe.
My bike was in a garage recently and they make pretty good job ripping some crap out of SE mufflers

I need to get out more, I have never heard of active exhaust control. And we complain about catalytic converters here in the U.S.. You learn something everyday.

You lucky guys...

We have to:
1. Mod the bike to sound properly
2. Ride it
3. When the time arrives unmod it, then pass the TÜV or equivalent revision
4. Re mod the bike to sound properly

You need one of these from BikeWerk. These are what we use in Europe to get around our own stupid version of CA emissions laws...

Basically it holds the butterfly in the pipe open and "tricks" the sensor into thinking its working normall so you dont get the warning light.
You can get a switchable one as well.

If you pick one up, email me and I will send an english version of how to install it

Thats correct!

The only other piece of info that is perhaps not clear in the destructions is how to open the butterfly BEFORE you install the plug.

Basically, start the bike and the buterfly will open. Then shut down the bike using the ignition switch so the butterfly stays open, then plug in the adapter. If you shut down with the run/stop switch the butterfly will close again.

I've done close to 2000 kms now with mine in and no issues at all. In fact the bike seems happier for it as well.

correct-a-mundo!

by the way, this is one that I got. Works exactly the same way as the other you looked at. I bought this one cause it was 5 Euro cheaper at the time (yeah I know, scrooge...) , and it "hides" better, not so easily seen, in the bike. The cops here always have a cursory look for one but if its not immediatley obvious then they dont bother looking any further.
