Solid red key light symbol when on and stays on means you have thrown a code. Search on the forums to learn how to retrieve code and what the problem is its been posted many times.

 

My '04 FXDWG fell over and broke the left rear turn signal off. Even though I separated the wires, when I hit the left blinker, the dash indicator blinks normally for 3-4 times, then blinks fast. The left front signal never lights. The red key comes on as soon as I hit the turn signal switch, and stays on until I turn the bike off. I have noticed it come on when the bike is running, but it goes out shortly after. No rhyme or reason or consistency. Doesn't happen often. The turn signal thing is all the time.

Saw a post where someone said the key comes on w/ a short in the turn signal circuit. Guess I need to start chasing the wires!
