Default Previous Owner Info?

...has anyone wanted or actually have contacted the previous owner of your current bike? I bought mine from a dealer so they can't/won't disclose that info to me, but I would be very insterested ins peaking with them to get their input on how they liked or hated the bike.

Any service out there that allows you to find that type of info?

You may be able to get it from Carfax. Also, many States have laws that require dealers to disclose the previous owner of a vehicle.

I don't know if it's still this way since the last time I did it was back in the 80's, but in Texas the DOT would pull up title informaton going back something like 5-10 years. I got hold of a previous owner of my first Corvette that way. It really didn't do anything for me when it came to the car, but it was intersting none the less to know the history of the car. You might talk to someont with the DOT in your state about it.

Wouldn't the dealer be the previous owner? I know, I know you’re asking about the previous rider.

What year is the bike & how many miles are on it? Is it old enough to have had multiple owner/riders?

If the bike has a lot of miles on it & only one rider has ever owned it...
then I'd say that previous owner really liked it. My 08 has 31,000 on it... I reeeeally like mine!

So if it's not a 'high' mileage bike then I don't think the previous owner liked it all that much.
If there were multiple previous owners (of a low mileage bike)...
then none of them must have liked it much enough... to ride it... all that much.

If it is a 'high' milage bike with 1 or 2 previous riders the better question is... was it as well maintained? If the previous riders had the bike serviced by the dealer then the dealer has a record of said servce... which I'm sure they'd share with you.

But the real question is... how do YOU like it?

If YOU like it then ride the wheels off it... who cares who liked it or didn't 'like' it!
