I ordered the chrome trim for my battery box to replace the gray plastic one on the new Dyna.

Well it comes in and it must weigh friggen 4 lbs. Why do they use heavy cheap cast pot metal for this? They should use aluminum..esp for the cost.

I did not take it and traded it for a battery tender.

Does anybody make a trim piece that is light and not cast junk?

I have a chrome one on my bike. It is stamped steel. Not cast. Your worried about weight on a 600lb+ bike? OK then.

 

Start makin your own stuff...some cast is nice. (Chopper Daves) The reality is half the stuff harley "makes" is cheap chinese *****. It's not CNC'd from billet because most American's won't cough up the extra cash to buy "made in the USA" Why do you think Wallyworld is taking over the world?
