Progressive 412 shock review

Reviving this thread....need some advice. Suspension upgrade this year, budget is $300-800. 444's or 412's? 280lbs and ride 2 up frequently so it wil be the Heavy Duty springs....however I'm worried about hat because on the oem shocks I ride a setting #3 solo and setting #4 when 2 up. Are the HD's going to be too harsh?
Other options? Ricor, ohlins or works? The ohlins website is not helpful in determining an appropriate product.

Ohlins. Talk to Howard at Motorcycle Metal in Florida. He will not sell you something you don't need or won't work.

At 220 with a passenger the extra bit of travel will help. I would get the heavy duty ones. My dad is 220 and my standard 12 inch 412s were pretty close to bottoming out when he rode it last. I would do the front ones too it's gonna ride 10x better.
Edit: just remember new shocks are just that, new. It takes a few hundred miles to break them in.

Shocks
looks nice man. That is the same set up I have and I love it too. I started out on the middle setting and it was perfect for just me but I had to move it up one more setting when the wife got on (it was either do that or tell the wife to lose a few pounds). I got sick of moving it all the time and now I just leave it set up for two up riding and its still rides nice even when I'm solo.
whats up man, I see you have a fat Bob, me too, and was thinking about buying the 11" 412's heavy duty progressives. What is your weight and did you choose heavy duty or standard? And what's your clearance when not on the bike with tire hitting fender, thanks!
