Disappearing Engine Oil

I have a 08 96" motor with 9500 miles. Since the 5000 mile change I have had to add 2 full quarts of oil. It is not leaking on the ground. Last I looked at the plugs they were fine. No smoke that I can tell. I ride pretty easy.

Do these motors just use oil? Is this pretty normal?

Whatchya'll think?

Or the sump. (Careful not to crack your case).

Are you checking while FULLY warmed up?

Are you checking it on the side stand or straight up and down.

Check your air cleaner and cover. You will find some there. Blow-by from the oil breather.

My TC96 uses no oil between changes. If you are not over-filling, have a pro diagnose the problem.

Some find that keeping away from the full mark, and staying closer to half-way between add/full, ends their oil usage issues. (It goes out the breather tubes when over full).

Did you change the oil or have it done? Was it full after the change?
