I'm thinking of getting a second bike, a Fat Bob and want to black out most of it.
I have seen lots of black lower forks and triple trees but no black upper forks.
Are these around or wont it work on the slider? Can they be powder coated?

You're looking for "DLC" or diamond like coating. It's a super hard anodizing for the fork tubes that's black. You can't powercoat the shiny part of the fork that goes through the fork seal but you can DLC it.

You'll have to strip your forks down and I bet the coating is pricey too. People mostly do it for the reduced stiction/friction, not looks.

A quick google search shows that your looking at least $500 for the tubes alone.

Coating the fork stanchions is very common in a lot of forms in motorsports, and huge in Mountain Biking. If you are in So Cal, I highly recommend going through Enzo suspensions.
