been out twice, but usually shaking too bad to do anything other than park and get back in the house. We haven't see it get over 35 here yet and it was snowing again this morning.

jupiter2 02-19-2011 02:54 PM

Cleaning up that salt is the worse part. But it's worth it.

Welcome to the overtaxed little island called England.

As Alice Cooper said in 1987...

You want to rule us with an iron hand, you change the lyrics and become Big Brother This ain't Russia, you ain't my Dad or Mother (They never knew anyway)

God help us all and keep our Members Of Parliament, Congressmen, Senators and Bankers from poverty..

Sorry enough of that crap, we`ll get back to the topic...

No pics but I won't forget yesterdays ride. It was high 40's and roads were very wet.
I went out when I got home from work. Went for an hour ride and it was dark when I got home. 2 times people pulled out in front cutting me off.
The public doesn't expect you out now. night time didn't help.
The bike ran great! I have to go though the back yard to get to the shed where my bike lives and it was very muddy. Well I drove till the bike didn't move.
Sunk down deep, I got off without letting the stand down.
Bike stood upright sunken down past the swing arm.
Cristined it but good. Only 500 miles on it.
I had my wife push on the bars and I pulled on the solo rack to rock it out.
Another good use for the solo rack. Beats pulling the signal lights off.
I got it in the shed last night but hosed it early this morning before the temp dropped.
It started lightning with rain when I got home. Fun fun.

Unrelated I came in from the shed as the wind was blowing hard today and (watched) as a monster tree just on my nieghbors property fell on my other nieghbor's garage destroying it with a BMW in it. My garage with my bike next to it is safe.

Great pics Jupiter.

I'm thankful we don't have long winters here.

This past Thursday was my longest ride since getting back on a bike in years. My teeth did not chatter once. :icon_lol:

This is near Callaway Gardens, Pine Moutain, GA.

The good thing about living in Texas. Riding season is pretty much year round.

PigInaBlanket 02-19-2011 10:14 PM

A bunch of us rode down to Deadwood in North Carolina today. Temps were low 60s. Put about 300 miles on the bike today and it felt good!

Stickman, what kind of bags are on those two WG's? I'm assuming it required a sig relo? Can you share some pics of your set up? Much appreciated.

Grind 02-20-2011 08:11 AM

I got out for 51 miles Saturday afternoon. It was 33* and sunny. Sorry, no pics.

Stickman81 02-20-2011 09:04 AM

Dave,

Thanks for the question.
The bags were on my bike (black '02) when I bought it last October.
They are a hard shell type bag with a leather covering. The top is only leather. They are hard mounted to the frame by two bolts that run through the fender.
There are spacers that go on the bolts between the chrome frame and the bag. The quick release buckles are different from side to side as if someone repaired one side.
Mine say Harley Davidson on them.

My bud with the 2003 has the same basic bags. His does not say Harley Davidson on them and the quick release buckles are different.

Sorry for the thread high jack. :icon_user:

Great pics - definitely spring fever now! Of course it has to be 35 degrees and raining here today.

OldMike 02-20-2011 10:26 AM

The pictures of that salt brine cooked on the engine reminds me of why I don't touch my bike till spring.

I can only envy those who are able to ride in February. Currently it is below 0 and we are in a winter storm warning. I won't be out even in my 4WD today.

I've been out riding almost every day since I bought my WG in December. Beauty of living in Las Vegas! :)

That pic sure has me daydreaming about spring.

I rode a Street Bob today (first time riding anything with mini-apes),which was a big mistake because i have just traded the 48 in for a brand new one (the 48 only has 60 miles on the clock, sometimes people make mistakes :icon_cankick:).

Anyway, will be back on this side of the forum now and really looking forward to getting the SB (2 weeks time).

It will have forward controls and eventually slip-ons while i recoup some money and then the real modifying can begin :D.

Great to see some pics of bikes out and about instead of locked up in garages!

PopsHD 02-20-2011 07:23 PM

Thanks, Stick!

PigInaBlanket 02-20-2011 08:12 PM

Going to be 73 tomorrow and then cool back down after that so I will be getting another nice ride in :icon_bike:

redmonster13 02-20-2011 09:58 PM

I'm down with it, more so than an M8 SB or LR softie. Total Heresy but the Pan Am is what a lot of modded Dynas are actually shooting for, jacked up high enuff to jump curbs, better brakes&suspension with 140+ RWHP.
And just cuz I like a Zombie thread: today's outing doing some Auto tuning with a PV ( another fine Winter day in the hills above the Valley of the Sun)
