FXDL shock adjustment

Is there a way to adjust the spring preload with out buying the spaner wrench from HD?

Thanks

Some folks say you can use a rubber oil filter wrench. Some folks say two screwdrivers inserted into opposite sides of the shock will do it too.

Some say they can do it with their hands too. Worth a try.

I would drop the 10 bucks to avoid any inadvertent scratches you might get from a flying screwdriver or oil wrench.

Good luck.

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks, I will try buy hand first. If it is only $10 I might just get it.

Could be cheaper at an indy shop or thru a catalog.

If you go with the wrench I would suggest putting a thin towel over the teeth of the wrench to minimize any chance of scratching your shock caps. That's what I do.
