Swingarm license plate? Friend of mine said that they may not be legal in PA. True?

 

They have to be mounted horizontal and be illuminated at night. Mine is mounted vertical and I have not had a problem yet. I guess it just where you ride.

 

I was more worried about the inspector, He should let it go if I bring him a beer lol

 

You 1st question is " is it legal ". Now you can probaly answer that by saying no. Now i asked my harley dealership about inspection. He said he passes them with vertical mount plates. He said its not right nor wrong but if you give the cop a reason to pull you over then he will. But in all his time he said you shouldnt have an issue unless you ask for it.

 

Inspection....whats that??? That would mean I would have to put my turn signals back on and replace my taillight that doesnt exist. I agree with what pontiac69 said.

 

 

No problems here. I believe most cops don't really know if it's illegal...don't give them a reason to figure it out!

Mine has to come off anyway to mount my hardbags...gonnan goi with a curved laydown plate I think.

 

I read pa law and it saws nothing about horizontal or vertical, just visible from behind, but does that mean by it being on swingarm that a person can not see from the right lane? I agree about giving a cop a reason to pull us over. to make money on a ticket and possibly them selling it at auction if your a felon on the run.

 

Not a felon on the run but if they try to take my bike I will be. LOL
