That is a lot of cat lol. Now I'm kinda worried about gutting mine. I hope mine is actress, would make life so easy. I will hopefully get mine in by next week so I can start workin on it at home. Gotta get my car running first.

I'm happy to report the khromewerks with the cat intact make a nice sound. Plenty loud, no need to gut the the poor kitty. The khromewerks 3" HP+ mufflers are nearly identical replacements. Brother, they sound sweet. Every bit as nice as I heard on youtube. Put a new map in the commander, hope its decent out tomorrow ---would like to feel the changes on the road.

The best way to remove the cat is cut the pipe and re-weld. The idea of "beating it out" is a really bad idea! Converter material is ceramic and is and very good abrasive! ( remember the reversion pulses in an exhaust! that reversion will pull any left over, "unremoved" converter material back into the engine is DONE WRONG!)

We should also take note the OP is in the UK!!So inclusion of a cat. is not a suprise on older bikes!

There is NO CAT in the head pipe on the 2008 FXDF (49 State Model).......I have both pipes.....the 2008 head pipe has NO CAT in the head pipe collector and has not been modified...the 2010 pipe has a CAT in the head pipe collector.

I just installed Big City Thunder QQ baffles in the 2008 head pipes today. Baffles removed from the mufflers. Will be installing the pipes on the bike this week. Will post pics and a vid when its done. Need to get o2 sensor plugs, installing a Power Commander V too.

Why are you waiting for plugs, they are readily available at any auto parts store. 18mm x 1.5 plugs. Same as some spark plugs

I dunno if it matters, but aren't those BCT baffles fitted backwards to the direction suggested in the instructions? Oh, and aren't those screws going to stop the mufflers slipping on?
