Bags for a Bob?

Just bought an '07 Street Bob and, of course, I'm already looking at what goodies I can add.

I already had them put the SE slash-down mufflers on before delivery (just thought the stock pipes were a little ugly, not looking for major performace changes right now) and I'm planning to get a Motherwell rack.

I'd also like to get a set of detachable saddle bags for those times I need to carry some stuff (while still letting me run it stripped down for day-to-day cruising)... which brings me to my question. I know Harley has a set of detachable bags available, but is it the best choice? Or is there an aftermarket set that would be a better option?

I have detachable bags for my street bob that i use when i do them long treks to wherever the world im going. Theyre made by leatherpros.com. check them out. Sorry I dont have a pic of em on my bike, but I dig em. The price were like a 100 bucks cheaper than HD of course.

Man I LOVE my detachable bags! I am so impressed with the quality of the bags & the brackets. And came out about $300 less than HD bags, and better looking IMO. Lots of options for appearance too, true CUSTOM MADE bags.

They are from Leatherworks with the Easy Brackets for removing. I don't want to post links to places that aren't advertisers (don't know of they are). So just to a search for Leatherworks Saddle bags.

I'll try to get some pics to post today.

I got the HD bags, just cuz. They pull off fast. But EZ Brackets and some cheaper aftermarkets are a good deal too. Got them on my Deadwood w/HD attach bags and they are great too.

I went with the HD ones on my '06 SG and they work great. Quick and easy to mount and remove. The kit is very easy to install yourself, so you won't need the dealer.

And you didn't have to relocate the turn signals either, I see.
Ever had any problems with them moving around, rubbing the paint, etc?
