Floorboards
Just in the process of fitting H-D forward controls to my 07 FXDC. At some point I reckon I will be wanting to try floorboards.
If somebody has already done this, please give some recommendations on which makes or types work best on a SG? And whether it is easy enough to do.
Thanks

Take a look at this. It's what I did with my Superglide a while back.

There are several good threads here on the Forums on that subject, just do a search. I'm one of the "OP's", and maybe the first to do this project with the '12 FLD-Switchback parts. It all depends on how much your want to spend, what you're looking for, or your ambitions as to what way you want to go.
The riders I hang with say, "Those look like they should of been there the whole time!"
Hope this helps
Best wishes....Tim

You get the opportunity to shift your foot position forward or back for comfort, and a lot more relaxed posture on the long rides were-as with the "forwards". I found that even when I was use to the forward controls, after a hundred or so miles, my lower legs and feet would be fatigued from being planted in one spot, even with stirrups.
These allow me to go the distance of a full tank (at any speed) and feel good getting off the bike for fuel, a smoke, and a some liquid refreshment, then 'saddle up", and go some more.
Best wishes....Tim(HT)
