I got a set of mid controls mounts I want to put on my bike, but I don't know what size bolt i need. I tried to run a 3/8" coarse thread tap in and it was to big, so I went and tried a 5/16" coarse tap and it was too small. It seems like it would be a 10mm bolt in that case, but I just wanna make sure I get the correct bolts.
i just put some mid brackets on my Super Glide, you need 4x of a 3/8-16 X 1-1/4 socket head. i got mine at the local hardware store, was less than $3 for all four of them. the socket head was required on mine because the left side is countersunk in under the engine. the right side could go standard head, but i just went socket head all around to keep it simple...
I went to my local dealer and asked them. Got the socket heads at lowe's with lock washers for about 6 bucks. Also got the HD peg mount pins for it instead of bolts, I like them but lets see how long that little snap ring lasts.
