Question on shock bolt torque and hardware
I just installed Progressive 440's in black on my Fat Bob. I applied loctite on the threads, but have no idea the torque specs for either the top or bottom bolt. So first off, does anyone have that information?
Secondly, I used the existing hardware bolts to mount. Now they seem to stand out a bit to me since they are not black. I pulled some photo's of others with black shocks and only one or two seemed to have black hardware. Are their covers for the bolts, do you paint them or just get comfortable with it?

Those are great shocks - congrats! As far as t-specs, most of us just snug up the shock mounting screws nice and firm; the manual calls for 30-40 ft-lbs on each.
If you really want to dress up the screws you could try using auto touch-up paint in stick or brush-on version.

+1 on that. tighten 'em down then paint em up. Use the specs he gave from the manual if you want to be precise but it doesn't matter too much as long as you don't crank down to no end on the things
