Default misfire at idle, just off idle, and under load

My father inlaws 2006 dyna has a misfire. Its missing at idle, just off idle and low rpms under load. Stealer cant figure out what the issue is.

Whats odd is we thought it may have been fuel related cuz we filled up and it ran like a champ, no issues then we went to a rally later that day and he dropped it in a field turning around, no damage to the bike and everyone was ok except the miss came back and hasnt gone away since.

Any ideas?

Plugs, wires, coil. These are easy to check and can all cause a rough or missing idle.

and find a new dealer; it ain't rocket science.

How many miles on the bike ...? I'd check plugs, plug wires ... check fuel pressure ... maybe a pinhole leak inside the fuel tank (causing low fuel pressure when the tank is not full) ...

Since you mention that the bike was dropped, one remote possibility is the TSSM (basically the "tilt sensor". Does the problem worsen when the bike is on the kickstand or while making turns?

I agree!

Plus plugs / wires....
Also check fuel lines.

My best guess would be an intake leak.

Search the board for info on intake leaks ... it could take you days to read'em all but there are instructions on testing it so give that a bit of a read and then test it for a intake leak.

If the bike fell on the right side I'd check for an intake manifold leak, wouldn't take much to change the plugs and while your at it check loose connections at the coil, ECM plug and plug wires.

2006 had the injector issue...did his ever get changed to the bigger ones?

Mine didn't develop the problem until after the warranty so i had to change the injectors and pay all the cost.
