Hmm!! I guess I should clarify things. If you like the annoying alarms good for you, I have insurance. I just don't like my vehicles making the noises and back in the day with my truck I hated it when people would just drive by and it would go off. So for my own personal vehicles yes annoying, for everybody else, it's your bike.

Why are guys with alarms on their bikes so sensitive???

Are you talking about me? I am not sensitive, I was just answering the dudes question. If I were being sensitive I would use one of these icons.

Or this one, but only because I like bunnies and pancakes

I try to stay out of internet naming calling pissing matches

Hey I was just answering OP's question and I guess I made him mad because I didn't use "IMO" but I fixed that above, so we'll see if it lightens him up a little....lol!

It wasn't at you, just another poke I couldn't resist.

I installed the smart siren today, with the rechargeable pager. I set it to chirpless mode so it does not make annoying noises when it arms/disarms. My bike is in a garage now, but I'm moving and will have to leave it outside then. I haven't ruled out chaining it to a tree as well.

To the OP:
Just an FYI, you could have also bought a siren at Radio Shack for $7 that accomplishes the same thing. Look in the DIY section & you can save allot of money.
BTW, welcome & as stated above there is a great wealth of knowledge here & a great bunch of guys but this is NOT for the thin-skinned so learn to ignore smart-*** posts or you'll never survive & you'll miss out on a great forum.

+1

I did this on my bike. Simple install less than an hour overall. Was closer to 10$ for me but still air of savings to accomplish the same thing. The cheap version is missing the battery backup of coarse but if someone wants the bike bad enough to rip off the battery cover and cut ur cables. ... They are probably gonna get it anyways. Lol. RFID is easy enough to hack for someone with the knowledge and gear.
