Talking “used “flex pipe” on there exhaust headers?”

Have you or know anyone that has used “flex pipe” on there exhaust headers?
That would be like Roadhouse style 2 into 1 system head pipes only.

I’m looking for the look of the headers only with flex piping.

Would this probably fall into the custom shop category?

I can't remember who on hear did it but there is a member that used it over the pipe as a heat shield and it gave it the look of the older bikes.

I used a factory bagger system and covered it in stainless flex tubing. I used 2 inch flex I bought from JC Whitney, cut it to length and slid it over the pipes in place of the factory heat shields. Then I just added a fishtail. I had to fab up a couple brackets for support, but its basically still the stock parts with a muffler. I have NEVER seen a flex style system for a Dyna, but there is a flex style system for the touring bikes. Its obscenely expensive, but it has a nice look. You might be able to adapt that if you wanted to. Heres what I did.

Your header pipes, absolutely has the look I’m looking for.
I’ll be thinking on this one for sure. I think I know of a local
bike shop that may do it for me, can’t be that hard to do?

The fish tail I love however it won’t work with the V&H Slip-On
I’m having put on in a couple of weeks.

Thanks

Your are lucky as the O2 sensors have been moved down to the collector for 2012 and slipping this on is now possible. I have been trying to come up with a way to do this on 2006 through 2011 style and have been unable to get around the large O2 bung up by the exhaust port.

On the FLD, the o2's are located on the back of the headers recessed and about 2" down from the exhaust port.

Dang it you be correct.
Unless someone comes up with heat shields
that simulate flex pipe for a FLD I be out of luck.

I thought I read that they were relocated like the Electra-Glides. If not, that kinda sucks as this would have been possible then. Oh well.............
