I rattle canned some on some bags a few years ago. Did not like the look, nor the dirt that accumulated on it. Sand blasted it and went with flat black.

Smaller accent pieces might look different. Another option is the wrinkle black paint...still some texture, but easier to clean.

Plasti Dip

It ain't bedliner, but Plasti Dip is a rubberized paint. I bought a spray can of the stuff from Home Depot for $6.00 and sprayed the left over chrome license plate mounting that is part of the rear stop light housing on my 09 Dyna Street Bob.

I got the idea from the Ford F150 forum where there are many posts about Plasti Dip coating used to black out chrome badges that auto and truck manufacturers love to clip onto their fenders and other bodywork. The posts to that website indicate that the Plasti Dip coating will stand up to car washes, however at this time I cannot provide any personal testimonial.

The nice thing about Plasti Dip is if you don't like it, you can peel it off.

Here are the before/after pics of my coating the chrome plate mounting.

I have not used it on the wide glide but I have used it on my truck to spray the lower sill of the door jams to keep from wearing the paint off to the bare metal like I did on my last truck.

Member Adrian Vail did his tins with the stuff. Below my scoot is painted with the famous Krylon flat black...Krylon works awesome. Tip, use 400grit for final sanding and it will stick very well with no issues. I don't even have a scratch or bug mark in 1.5 years of Florida riding. Oh, on an interesting note, a fellow I know has a flat black Lamborghini...My krylon can job has a smoother better finish that his Lambo. For small parts VHT wrinkle paint is nice, as well as H-D wrinkle black. My engine is done in Harley texture black which IMO looks and comes out better than wrinkle black.

Unless you're going to throw tools, building materials, etc...in/at it - stick to black paint. VHT wrinkle-coat works well & much better outcome.
